i just saw your note. thank you for responding. that sounds like a good price. i was just wondering how and what do you use to preserve the wood? is the wood green when you carve it? and how do you keep it from cracking or growing mold and mildew on it? i would be interested in purchasing on if i knew the process of curing the wood to insure it last forever for that price. thanks for your time
The wood is kiln or air dried to between 6 and 12 percent moisture content. Where are you planning on displaying this work; and in what part of the world, will it be in a climate controlled environment, or outside? The answers will be a factor in the drying process I use, and what (if any) special treatments may be needed to protect the sculpture. While nothing lasts forever, I will warrantee my work for the duration of my lifetime, beyond that, i won't be much good to you. More information about Cypress is available here:  www.wood-database.com/lumber-i…
i was wondering what you sell your carved skulls for? and how much would one cost made of cypress?
